Deep Sea Welding Salary Guide!

Deep sea welding salary and what you need to do to get a deep sea welding job:

It is widely known that a welder can command a good salary, but one type of welding carries a higher salary than any other, this is a deep sea welder. The deep sea welder can enjoy a higher salary than any other welder because of the dangerous and skillful nature of the job they carry out, but there is more to a deep sea welder salary than meets the eye.

A deep sea welding salary may be as little as $15,000 a year, or they may enjoy a salary of over $100,000 a year. But what makes the difference between the two deep sea welder salary figures?

Certification And Your Deep Sea Welding Salary:

A welder who takes to the high seas for their job needs a lot of certification. Firstly they will need certification in welding to prove they can carry out different welding types such as Mig and Tig. After this they will need diving certification, this certification is not simply the type you get for scuba diving but a commercial deep sea diving certificate.

Metal Working Skills

On top of proving their worth with a welding and with diving equipment, a deep sea welder also needs to be a leader in the field of project management and quality inspection as there is generally not anyone to check their work.

Industry

The industry has a very big impact on a deep sea welder salary. Different industries have differing needs for a welder of the deep so the salary changes dependent on business needs. The industry that offers the highest salary for sea welders is the oil industry, this is because the oil field requires work on off shore rigs and possible in the most difficult and dangerous circumstances.

Self Employment:

The reason why a salary may differ also comes down to the fact that a very high percentage of welders who carry out sea welding are self employed. Being self employed means you get to choose your own deep sea welding salary range and the amount of projects carried out.

Many welders will be kept busy all year round while some only work seasonally to earn the amount they require before hanging up their welding gear for the rest of the year. Also there are others struggle to get work as they are new to the under water welding field.

To be a deep sea welder takes a lot of skill, knowledge and a great deal of confidence in ones ability, when combined this delivers a very high deep sea welder salary.
