A great cure for flash burn is to go to the local pharmacy and purchase tears naturel. They are replacement tears for the tear ducts that are closed up. You will recieve almost instant releive and no burning that you get from potatoes and no chance of an eye infection.

Cutting galvanized metal with a blue saw does give off a poisonous gas that can feel like a stomach flu, drink a couple of glasses of milk to cure this. It actually works, I learned this cutting steel decking all day.
Also, I'm sure anyone whos been welding more than a couple days kows this, but a slice of cold potato truly soothes a mild flash burn
