The Rig Welder
A rig welder is seen as a special breed of welder. A group of people who have attained the Holy Grail in the welding world, a rig job. Both of these types of jobs are available from oil rig companies and the availability of work depends on what an oil company is looking for. Getting this welding job all depends on the country in which you reside but the general consensus is that you have to be certified up to a high standard for welding and you will also be tested extensively before gaining the job. It is said that some oil companies in the United Kingdom and United States of America will actually x-ray test your welds to test precision and ensure your welding is up to the task of a rig welding job.
