Once your resume is ready to go and it has been proofread, you need to start looking for welding jobs to apply for. Keep in mind that there are plenty of other individuals out there applying for the same jobs. Therefore you want to be on top of it. Apply for as many jobs as you qualify for. With a great resume you will get several calls asking you to come in for a job interview.

Local Newspapers

Local newspapers have help wanted ads in them every single day. Take some time to find those that are listed in the area of welding. The help wanted ads are updated daily in the newspapers. If you don't get a subscription then make it a point to go buy a paper daily. You should also be able to view local newspapers at your local library.

Register at Job Service

Find out where your local job service center is and sign up with them. This is a free service and they will help you to be matched up with employers that have welding job openings. When such work orders come in, they will notify you. They will also tell you how to go about applying for that job. In some instances they may have your information and submit it to that employer on your behalf.

Look Online

Today the internet is something most people have access to at home. There are tons of sites where you can find job listings. You can find welding jobs this way without having to leave home to do so. You can search for them by job title, requirements, and even by location. If you don't mind relocating for a welding job this is a great resource because you can find out about jobs that are offered in other areas for this field of work.

Call Local Employers

It may surprise you to learn that many employers don't advertise their welding jobs through such resources though. If you know of several employers in your area that do use welders, call them and ask what they may have available. Identify yourself and ask to speak to the personnel department. Even if they don't have any openings at that time, they may tell you to come in and fill out an application.

With any welding job you come across, make sure you carefully read all of the information. If you meet the minimum qualifications then you should apply for it. Even if it isn't your dream job it is a step in the right direction. Make sure you pay attention to what they are asking for in the job listing. There may be a closing date too which is the deadline for when they will accept applications for the welding job. Don't wait until the last minute to apply though as you don't want to miss that cut off date.
