Cool Welding Project Ideas

Welding project ideas that will point you in the right direction: Many people get into welding of one kind of another and learn the basics and then are stuck and not sure where to venture yet. They have enjoyed learning the skills and management of the welding tools, but aren't sure if there is any fulfillment left in welding together two pieces of flatiron to see how even a bead they can make. What they need now are some welding project ideas to allow them to put their new-found skills as well as their creativity to work.

welding project ideasSome of the more basic and useful ideas for welding projects involve creating things to help move along your new-found hobby. To have a complete and functional shop welders need a lot more than just their welder itself. A good sturdy welding bench is a necessity, and a fairly straightforward project. You can expand beyond that idea and create a smaller portable welding bench to accompany it. You can also if you're feeling a little more decorative try your hand at creating bases for tables that you can later then finish with a table top out of a material a little more aesthetically pleasing than steel. If you're looking for some welding plans on any of those ideas a simple Google search will bring up a plethora of blueprints for welding tables.

If you're feeling a little more creative there are other little projects that can be created by welding. Much western style art is created by the welding together of various objects. Horseshoes especially theme prominently in this style. You can create simple western styled bookends, (that are really pretty popular in parts of the country) by welding together two horseshoes at right angles. You can also create a western style toilet paper holder with a horseshoe. If you're still in to the western them but more ambitious, you can start with any basic design of table that you want, and then use horseshoes for the legs, as well as for the stand that you will place a table top on. If you affix a glass top to it so you can see your hard done metalwork it will give you a great western effect.

Those are some basic welding project ideas. The best advice is to just be creative. Look at your scrap pile as your blank canvas and see what you can come up with.
